Publication Ethics
INSPIRATIONAL : Journal of Educational Psychology is a scientific publication that contains research results in the field of Educational Psychology that have never been published. This scientific code of ethics statement is a statement of the code of ethics of all parties involved in the publication process of this scientific journal, namely managers, editors, reviewers, and authors. This statement of the code of ethics for scientific publications is based on the Regulation of the Head of LIPI Number 5 of 2014 concerning the Code of Ethics for Scientific Publications. Scientific Publication Ethics essentially upholds three ethical values in publication, namely
- Neutrality, which is free from conflicts of interest in the management of publications;
- Fairness, namely giving authorship rights to those protected as authors / authors; and
- Honesty, which is free from duplication, fabrication, falsification, and plagiarism (DF2P) in publications.
Duties and Responsibilities of Editor-in-Chief :
- Determine the name of the journal, scientific scope, periodical, and accreditation if needed
- Defines the relationship between publishers, editors, reviewers, and other parties.
- Respect confidential matters, both for contributing researchers, authors / writers, editors, and reviewers.
- Overview of norms and provisions regarding intellectual property rights, especially copyright.
- Review journal policies and submit them to authors, editors, peer reviewers, and readers.
- Create codes of conduct for editors and reviewers.
- Publish the journal regularly.
- Ensure the availability of funding sources for journal publishing.
- Build cooperation and marketing networks.
- Improving the quality of the journal.
- Prepare licensing and other aspects of legality.
Duties and Responsibilities of the Editor
- The editor provides comments on the author's writing in order to understand what the author wants to convey, through comments written by readers on the manuscript and / or discussion facilities on the journal website.
- Editors provide comments on the author's writing in accordance with the EYD (Enhanced Spelling) language or language in accordance with the standards of the journal.
- The editor strives to improve the quality of publications on an ongoing basis;
- Editors are free to argue objectively,
- The editor provides corrections, resolutions, cancellations, and apologies if necessary,
- The editor ensures that the author's writing does not involve SARA or anything that can harm the publisher and coordinates the author's writing with the editor-in-chief of the publisher if the writing is a little controversial.
- Editors receive, review, and receive complaints from all parties involved in journal publishing;
- The editor supports initiatives educating researchers on publication ethics,
- The editor does not defend his own, author's or third party's opinions that may result in unobjective decisions,
- The editor encourages the author, so that they can make improvements to the paper until it is worthy of publication.
- The editor layouts the manuscript to be published so that it matches the journal template.
- The editor assists the editor-in-chief in finalizing the manuscript collection before printing and publication, especially in terms of language, format and layout.
Duties and Responsibilities of Peer Reviewers
- Provide objective and unbiased written feedback on the scientific value and contribution of the manuscript to the development of science;
- whether the writing of the manuscript is clear, complete, and relevant, and whether the manuscript is in accordance with the scope of the journal;
- Do not provide criticism or comments of a personal nature; and
- Maintain the confidentiality of the manuscript, by not discussing it with unrelated parties, or disclosing the information contained in the manuscript to other parties.
Duties and Responsibilities of the Author
- Objection, the submitted manuscript is indeed the original work of the authors.
- The submitted manuscript is not in the process of review by other publishers or is not sent simultaneously to other publishers.
- The author is responsible for every journal business process until the manuscript is published.
Website Administrator Duties and Responsibilities
Website Administrator is the person responsible for managing the journal website. Specifically, the scope of duties of the Website Administrator is as follows:
- Journal website;
- Configure system options and manage user accounts;
- Register for editors, reviewers, and writers;
- Manage journal features;
- View statistical reports; and
- Upload/publish papers that have received status.
